This stitch is made up of a 2-row repeat: One cast on row, one return pass.

Abbreviations:

Lace Return Pass (LP): Chain 3. Yarn over and pull through 5 loops. *Chain 4. Yarn over and pull through 5 loops. Repeat from * until you are left with 2 loops on your hook. Yarn over, and pull through the 2 remaining loops.

Tunisian Simple Stitch (TS): Insert your hook behind the front loops of the vertical stitch. Pull up a loop.

Stitch:

Chain in multiples of 4 + 2

Cast-on:

Insert your hook into the second chain from hook. Yarn over, and pull the hook out of the stitch. You should now have two loops on your hook.

Go to the next stitch, insert your hook into the  stitch and yarn over, then pull up a loop. You’ll now have three loops on your hook. Insert your hook into the next stitch, yarn over, and pull up a loop. You’ll now have four loops on your hook. Continue adding loops to your hook until you have cast on one loop for every stitch of your chain.

Complete a traditional return pass: Yarn over and pull through one loop on your hook (the first loop on the hook). Now yarn over, pull through two loops (loops 2 and 3 on your hook). Continue to yarn over, pull through two loops until you have only one loop on your hook.

Row 1: TS into the second stitch from your hook, and into every stitch of the row.

Complete a LP.

Row 2: insert your hook into the space between the first stitch and the first cluster of the row, yarn over and pull up a loop. *Insert your hook into the stitch above the cluster, yarn over and pull up a loop. Insert your hook into the first chain, yarn over and pull up a loop. Insert your hook into the second chain, yarn over and pull up a loop. Insert you hook into the third chain, yarn over and pull up a loop. Repeat from * until you reach the last cluster.

Insert your hook into the small chain directly after the last cluster, yarn over and pull up a loop. Insert your hook onto the second chain from the last cluster, yarn over and pull up a loop. Insert your hook into the third loop from the cluster, yarn over and pull up a loop.

Complete a LP.

Repeat Row 2 and the LP until you complete the length you want for your project.

Happy Crocheting!
