Let’s talk about this project for a second. The bikini is entirely bespoke, meaning, it’ll be made to fit you! Like the majority of my garment patterns, this Bikini does not include stitch numbers or specific measurements, simply because we are all different shapes and sizes, so why limit the pattern to fit only a fraction of the bikini-wearing population?? I’m a super short, mildly curvy Latina. Like most non-models (you know, the tall, super skinny ones?), I often have difficulty finding swimwear that fits. So with that in mind, I designed this pattern in a way that each of us can adjust the pieces as needed to fit our unique curves.

Let’s talk yarn!
I used Lion Brand’s Coboo yarn. It’s a cotton/bamboo blend that makes a bikini you can actually wear in the water. I don’t know about you, but my beach days are more “swim and look for sea creatures”, than actual beach days. So I needed a swimsuit, not a lounge-on-the-beach-only suit. The Coboo yarn is both water friendly and easy maintenance. So you can easily machine wash and dry your swimsuit. Plus, it is easily available anywhere in the U.S. Another yarn option is Alize Diva yarn, but sadly, this yarn is difficult to find and quite expensive in the U.S.
You’ll need a Tunisian hook for this pattern. Depending on your bra size, you might be able to crochet the top using a regular hook, but you’ll definitely need one to crochet the bottom in order to fit all of the stitches on your hook.
This PDF pattern includes loads of photos, tips, and notes so you can easily create your perfect Sans Polka Dot Bikini. For those of you that need a little extra help, or don’t want to buy the pattern, you can watch the free tutorial on the Mode Bespoke Channel on YouTube.
