These easy-to-crochet knit stitch mittens are a fun and quick beginner project you can easily complete in a weekend. You can use any yarn you want for this project, but if you watch the tutorial, you’ll notice I used a #4 worsted yarn. They turn out to be thick winter mittens, but if you require a lighter pair, I’d use a smaller yarn.

If you plan to use a lighter yarn, here are some hook-to-yarn size suggestions:

Yarn Hook
#1 sock or fingering 3 mm
#2 sport/ baby 3.5 mm
#3 DK yarn 5 mm
#4 medium 6 mm
#5 bulky 9 mm

What you’ll need:

Yarn: Yarn: Approx. 394 yards (360 m) of a #4 medium yarn. This makes about 2 pairs of medium mittens.

Tunisian Hook : 6 mm

Additional materials: Scissors, & needle (any needle you can fit your yarn through will work).

Notes: You will use knit and purl stitches for this pattern.
