This pattern has been a while in the making! It was requested a long time ago, but the stars were surprisingly difficult to work out, so I’ve just recently finished putting the pattern together.

Some quick notes on this pattern: once you get the hang of the open stitches (to create the star pattern), it’s quite simple and you’ll move through it quickly. You can use any yarn you want. If you chose a different weight yarn, say a DK vs a worsted, you will need to adjust your hook size. You can also add as many colors as you want. Just remember that each color you add creates more tail ends to weave in. Other than that, this pattern should be a breeze!

The chart is NOT included in the free version of the pattern. You can, however, purchase the chart on it’s own, or purchase the full pattern which includes: line by line instructions, photos, notes, instructions for calculating the amount of yarn you’ll need, and the chart. Plus, it’s ad-free.

To those of you that purchase the patterns, THANK YOU! Your purchases help support my small (tiny, really) business and help keep Mode Bespoke going.

THANK YOU!

Ok, let’s get to it!

Materials:

Yarn: #4 Medium/Worsted/aran yarn, in 2 colors.

I love to use Red Heart Super Saver yarn for my blankets. It’s easy to find, affordable, and softens up so much after the first wash. It’s also the only yarn I use when gifting baby/toddler blankets because it is easy care. You can machine wash and dry it, which was a blessing when I was a new mom. The last thing I wanted to worry about was whether my baby’s blanket was line dry, or air dry only. Note: I am not sponsored or endorsed by Red Heart, It’s just my opinion.

Hook: 5.5 mm, for blanket

            5.0 mm, for border
Additional materials: Scissors, yarn needle, measuring tape

The border for this blanket is entirely optional. I have filmed a free tutorial in which I teach you how to crochet 4 different, and simple borders you can use with this blanket, should you choose to add one. The border pictured, is a Single Crochet border, which is one of the 4 patterns covered in the tutorial.
