Some families do Disney – that family is definitely not us, we’re a Studio Ghibli home.
From Kiki, to Howl, Totoro and Ponyo, my kid and I love them all! Though the 4 mentioned are def the favorites. We can spend the entire day listening to film soundtracks and very much enjoy the animation and stories.
So to create a sort of “memories” project for the kid (who won’t stop growing despite me asking her to please stay a kid forever), I’m making her a patchwork Studio Ghibli throw. So far, I’ve drafted 7 patches of many to come, because i’m missing loads of characters from the many films. This will be a long-term and ongoing project, but I’m making the patch charts available ahead of time so you all can also create a project using them.
You can find the individual charts below, or purchase the 7-chart bundle.
So far, I’ve only filmed the tutorial for Totoro (a full, row-by-row written pattern is also available for Totoro below), but will slowly post tutorials for the other charts as I work my way through them.
This collection of charts can be used to create a character, or movie-specific projects (such as a blanket, scarf, bag or sweater), or you can do as I plan to do and create a patchwork blanket out of the many characters across all the films.
Whatever your project and imagination take you, I hope you enjoy the charts and find them useful.
Happy crocheting!
